“There’s a right to obey, And a right to kill.”—Rage Against the Machine.

PAGE 1.  PANEL 1, SPLASH PAGE.

Chino sits upright in his hospital bed.  The television is on, a food tray sits to the right of him.  Myung sits directly by the hospital bed on his left hand side.  Chi and Mala are standing by the window, a bit further away from him.

Chino:  “…And then I woke up.”

Chi:  “You don’t remember anything?”

Chino:  “Not really.  I remember somebody offering me something, and then passing it along.  I could feel the thump of the music as I started to pass out, but no real memory of anything after that.”

Myung:  “I’m just relieved that you’re still on your Mom’s insurance, or else this would have been a lot tougher.”

Chi: “Are they going to call the cops?”

Chino:  “Nah, they said that I just need to get out of here as soon as possible.  “Stupid kid,” was all they had to say.

Mala:  “Are you ready?”

Chino:  “Yea, I think so.  Do you guys want to go to the rest of the festival?”

PAGE 2.  PANEL 1.

Chi is being elbowed in the gut for what he is saying.

Chi:  “Yea—“

Mala:  “Only if you want to go.  What about you, Myung?  Do you think he should go?”

PAGE 2.  PANEL 2.

Myung hold’s Chino’s hand, they look at one another.  Chi hold’s his side, and bends over in pain.

Chi:  “It is entirely up to your wisdom, sister.”

Myung:  “No getting messed up today, right?”

Chino:  “If the pinky swear weren’t enough, the acid trip from hell sure as fuck cemented it.”

Mala:  “What did I tell you about handling your shit.”

PAGE 2.  PANEL 3.

Chino holds Myung’s hand, looks at Mala.

Chino:  “Defend me one minute, then lecture me the next.”

Mala:  “That’s what family is for.”

Myung:  “Let’s get you checked out.”

PAGE 2.  PANEL 4.

Chino’s wrist is bandaged, he notices as he is getting up.

Chino:  “Where did this come from?”

Myung:  “Don’t know.  Maybe you carpet burned it really bad while being strapped to the bed.”

PAGE 2.  PANEL 5.

Chino looks at Myung.

Chino:  “Strapped?”

Myung:  “You were thrashing horribly.”

PAGE 3.  PANEL 1.

Chino looks at Myung, Mala, and Chi as they are rocking out to the music that is being played in the Gobe tent.  He is sitting on the ground, smoking.

Myung:  “I’ll be right back.”

PAGE 3.  PANEL 2.

Myung Is sitting down to Chino.

Myung:  “What’s up?”

Chino:  “Just feeling depressed?”

Myung:  “Because of yesterday?  It’s your fault you missed the rest of the festival.”

Chino:  “No, not that.  Yeah, it sucks I didn’t get to see daft punk, but that’s not it.  I just have this, I don’t know, emotional hangover.  Like I had a horrible dream and that feeling won’t go away.”

Myung:  “Do you remember anything?”

PAGE 3.  PANEL 3.

Chino looks at his wrist.

Chino:  “…Just a lot of pain.”

PAGE 3.  PANEL 4.

Mala and Chi are by them now.

Mala:  “We’re going to get some spicy pie.  You guy’s coming?”

Myung:  “You want to go.”

Chino:  “Yeah, after all that vomiting I should replenish.”

PAGE 3.  PANEL 5.

They walk towards some food stands, there are a lot of people around.  There are big tents that table benches have been put under, to block out the sun.  Some people are sitting on the grass and eating.  Some are smoking cigarettes, or just drinking water.

Mala:  “This way.”

PAGE 4.  PANEL 1.

Chino is looking around and sees a girl who looks really tipsy.  She is muttering, and is approaching Chino.

Girl:  “Heaven will burn, rain down fire upon us, and strike the Earth clean.”

PAGE 4.  PANEL 2.

She is grabbing Chino’s arms.

Girl:  “He wants to ascend, tired of this shell.”

Chino:  “What?  What are talking about?’

Girl:  “Can’t be stopped. Hand on the button…gravity’s rainbow.”

PAGE 4.  PANEL 3.

A couple of young men, dressed for the sun, t-shirt, shorts, flip flops come and grab her, and are taking her away.

Young man 1:  “Sorry about that man, she get’s that way when she’s messed up.”

Chino:  “What was she talking about?”

Young man 2:  “Who knows, told her to lay off that shit.”

Girl:   “Burning, burning, burning.  Help.”

PAGE 4.  PANEL 4.

The young men take the girl into a porto pottie, and stick a syringe in her neck.

Somebody waiting in line to use the porto pottie is annoyed.

Patron:  “HEY!  I was next.”

PAGE 4.  PANEL 5.

Young man 1 makes a phone call, while the other holds the girl.

Young man 1:  “We’ve got one, muttering all types of shit.  Also heard about a young man who was taken away by the medics last night, could have been the energy spike, we’ll keep looking.”

PAGE 5.  PANEL 1.

Captain Blicero stands in shadow, looking at the map.

Blicero:  “Please do.  We had an interesting dream last night gentlemen.  We need to find the visitor that was there with us.”

PAGE 5.  PANEL 2.

Blicero is running his fingers through the hair of a young girl on a table, her hair is red, and she is unconscious.

Blicero:  “Can’t have anybody giving my children the wrong ideas.  Now can we?”

PAGE 5.  PANEL 3.

Blicero looks up at the map, green reflects from the screen, onto his glasses, and that light is only reflected in his glasses.

Blicero:  “Can’t have anybody standing in my way.”

PAGE 6.  PANEL 1.

Chino, Myung, Chi, and Mala sit around a table, all of them eating pizza.

Chi:  “What was she saying?”

Chino:  “Something about fire.  It sounded, I don’t know.  Almost familiar.”

Myung:  “Weird shit just keeps happening.  What time is it?”

Mala:  “5:45.  I was just thinking, if you guys just want to chill for a couple more hours, then we head out.  I don’t mind missing Roger Waters.  I saw him in Hollywood last year.”

PAGE 6.  PANEL 2.

Chino looks at Mala.

Chino:  “Actually, that doesn’t sound too bad.  I hate to think I’m missing anything, but it already feels like I went to the Dark Side of the Moon.”

Myung:  “I bet.  Sounds good to me.

Chi: “Well, I don’t have a car, so I don’t really have a choice.  Let’s head out after Gogol Bordello.  I’ve wanted to see them again since they opened for Cake.”

Chino:  “That was a good show.  Sounds like a plan.”

PAGE 6.  PANEL 3.

Chino is looking around and sees the two guys walking around, they don’t have the girl with them.

Chino:  “The fuck…”

Mala:  “What’s up?”

Chino:  “Nothing, it’s just…”

PAGE 6.  PANEL 4.

Chino stares hard at the two men.  Thought bubble clouds are now above their heads, but the interior is a mess, he can’t read them.

Chino (thought bubble):  “How come I can’t read what they’re thinking?  Maybe I’m too weak from last night.”

PAGE 6.  PANEL 5.

Chino looks down at his bandaged wrist.

Chino:  “I’ll be right back guys, bathroom.”

PAGE 7.  PANEL 1.

Chino is in the porto pottie, he has unwrapped most of the bandage from his wrist, he stares at the burn.

Chino:  “How did this get there?  Let’s see if I can get rid of it.”

PAGE 7.  PANEL 2.

Chino has his left hand wrapped around his right wrist.

Chino:  “FUCK!  AHHH!  THIS BETTER NOT SCAR!”

PAGE 7.  PANEL 3.

Chino has removed his left hand.  He looks at his wrist in amazement.

Chino he has a blank speech bubble.

PAGE 7.  PANEL 4.

We see Chino’s wrist, it is exactly the same, burned, no healing took place.

Chino:  “The fuck!”

PAGE 7.  PANEL 5.

Chino is standing by the table.  Myung is checking her phone.  Mala is taking a swig from her flask, and Chi is smoking.

Chino:  “Let’s get going.”

PAGE 8.  PANEL 1.

A mosh pit is starting next to our 4 heroes.  Chino is in the front.

Chino:  “I swear if I get bumped one more time—“

PAGE 8.  PANEL 2.

Chino get’s elbowed in the face.

Chino:  “Fuck.”

Mala:  “Watch it assholes.”

PAGE 8.  PANEL 3.

Chino has pushed one of the moshers.

Chino:  “Assholes.”

PAGE 8.  PANEL 4.

The mosher goes through the pit, like he was on a ripcord, towards the opposite end of where Chino is.  Chino’s strength is still intact.

Chino:  “Yeah, mother fucker, how do you like that.”

PAGE 8.  PANEL 5.

Myung has put her hand on his shoulder.

Myung:  “Hey big fella, no need for that.”

PAGE 8.  PANEL 6.

Chino turns around, first with an intense, excited look on his face.

Chino:  “Hahaha.”

PAGE 8.  PANEL 7.

Chino hold’s his hand up to his head.

Chino:  “What, what are you talking about?”

Chi (off panel):  “We should probably go.”

PAGE 9.  PANEL 1.

Chino is walking with Chi.  The girls are walking ahead of them.

Chi:  “You seriously don’t remember pushing that guy?”

Chino:  “Now that you’re reminding me of it, yeah, I kind of do.  But it’s kind of faint.  Like I watched someone else do it, and I caught it in my peripheral vision at the last second.”

Chi:  “Dude, that’s scary.  I thought you had a handle on this shit.”

Chino:  “I do, the guy hit me in the face out of nowhere, and I just reacted.”

PAGE 9.  PANEL 2.

Myung is walking next to Mala.

Myung:  “Have you ever seen him like that before?”

Mala:  “Never.  Maybe that trip fucked him up more than he thought.”

Myung:  “Yeah, maybe he’s just stressed, and confused.”

Mala:  “I hope so, I don’t need the incredible Hulk riding in my car.”

PAGE 9.  PANEL 3.

The three of them are standing outside Mala’s car.

Chino:  “Can I smoke?”

Mala:  “If you’re in the front.”

Chino:  “That okay, hon?”

Myung:  “Yeah.”

PAGE 9.  PANEL 4.

Chino is smoking, Mala is driving down some rows of cars towards the exit, which we can see is just slightly congested, but not too bad.

Mala:  “Bye bye Coachella.  ‘Til next year.”

Chino:  “I’m on the D.A.R.E. program next year.”

Chi and Myung:  “Yes.”

Chino:  “Okay, I guess it’s unanimous.”

Mala:  “Fuck yea it is, coz.”

PAGE 9.  PANEL 5.

Mala is being cut off by another driver in a big truck.

Mala:  “HEY!”

Driver:  “NICE DRIVING SWEET TITS!”

Passenger:  “CHINKS CAN’T DRIVE.”

PAGE 10.  PANEL 1.

Mala shakes her fist.  Everyone in the car is looking at her.

Mala:  “FUCK YOU!  I’M MEXICAN!”

Chi:  “You tell’em.”

PAGE 10.  PANEL 2.

Mala looks at everyone in the car.

Mala:  “Sorry.  You guys can drive.  YOU HEAR THAT.  CHINKS CAN DRIVE.”

Myung:  “Almost wasn’t offended.”

PAGE 10.  PANEL 3.

Mala has pulled behind the truck.

Mala:  “Assholes.”

Chino:  “Fuckers.”

Mala:  “Puta’s.”

PAGE 10.  PANEL 4.

Chino is getting out of the car.

Mala:  “Get your ass back in here, daytripper.  They’ll kill you.”

Chi:  “Get back in here.”

PAGE 10.  PANEL 5.

We’re looking at Chino from the Mala’s car’s perspective.  They can see word bubbles because they are obviously talking to each other, but what is being said, can’t be heard.  So either some small lettering, or squiggly lines.

PAGE 10.  PANEL 6.

Chino rips the truck door off it’s hinges.

Mala: “Holy fuck!”

Chi:  “I was worried this might happen.”

Myung:  “Are those his powers again?

Mala:  “Powers?  What fucking powers?  When did my cousin actually become the incredible Hulk?”

PAGE 11.  PANEL 1.

Chino is walking back over to the car, the two men follow behind.

Mala:  “Shit!  They’re going to jump him.  Chino, behind…”

PAGE 11.  PANEL 2.

The men are now walking in front of Chino, and are approaching Mala’s side of the car.

Mala:  “…you?”

PAGE 11.  PANEL 3.

The two men are now on their knees, by Mala’s door, she is looking down at them in astonishment.

Racist 1:  “We’re extremely sorry.”

Racist 2:  “Yeah, we can’t apologize enough.”

Racist 1:  “You’re cousin also informs us that you’re Mexican, sorry about the mistake.”

Racist 2:  “Sorry to you Chinese folk in the back.”

PAGE 11.  PANEL 4.

Chino is now leaning in on the passenger side window.

Chino:  “Anything else gentlemen?”

Racist 1:  “Um…we’ve got some money we can give you.”

Chino:  “That works.”

Racist 2.  “And some smokes.”

Chino:  “I’ll take those.  Scram.”

PAGE 11.  PANEL 5.

Chino is taking out a cigarette from the pack he got from the racist.  Myung is about to touch him.

Chino:  “I was almost out of cigs too.  Thank goodness those assholes came by.”

Myung:  “Chino, are you okay?”

Chino:  “Fucking fantastic why do…”

PAGE 11.  PANEL 6.

Myung is touching Chino’s arm.

Chino:  “…you…um…everybody okay?  I can’t believe those jerks cut us off.”

Myung:  “Get in, let’s get to the hotel.”

Chino:  “Okay.”

PAGE 12.  PANEL 1.

Chino is carrying his bag, walking next to Chi.  Mala and Myung walk ahead of the two boys.

Myung:  “Do you mind if we have the room for a little bit?”

Mala: “Um…Oh!  Yeah!  No prob.  Maybe ask him too, about what’s been going on, and how he’s feeling.”

PAGE 12.  PANEL 2.

Myung is inserting the key card into the door.  Chino is behind her.  Chi is being dragged off by Mala, she is pulling him by the forearm, with her right arm.

Mala:  “We’ll catch you guys later.”

Chi:  “But I…”

Mala:  “Let’s go buy some beer and drink it in the car.”

Chi:  “…want to drink beer in the car with Mala.  Bye.”

Chino:  “Later.”

PAGE 12.  PANEL 3.

Chino is putting his bag down.  Myung is putting her purse away/entering the bathroom.

Chino:  “I can’t wait to rest.  It feels like I haven’t slept in a week.”

Myung:  “Don’t be too tired.”

Chino:  “It feels like I could pass out.”

PAGE 12.  PANEL 4.

Chino is laying back on the bed, the T.V. is on.

Chino:  “What’s up in there?”

Myung:  “Be out in a sec.”

PAGE 12.  PANEL 5.

Shot of Chino’s face in shock.

Chino:  “Oh my…”

PAGE 13.  PANEL 1.

Myung has her hand on the wall, hair down.  She is in her bra and panties.

Myung:  “I know you’ve waited a long while, and so have I.  I just didn’t want you to fuck and leave.”

Chino:  “Never.”

Myung:  “Plus it is a little intimidating being your first, yet…I think I’ve gotten over that.  Watching you hurting like that, I just knew I wanted to be with you.”

Chino:  “I should almost die everyday.”

PAGE 13.  PANEL 2.

Myung  is crawling on top of Chino.

Myung:  “Don’t you dare.”

PAGE 13.  PANEL 3.

Myung is taking Chino’s shirt off.

PAGE 13.  PANEL 4.

Chino is trying to take off her bra.

Myung:  “Heh.  I’ll get that for you.”

Chino:  “You’re the best.”

PAGE 13.  PANEL 5.

Myung has laid Chino back on the bed, she’s over him, without her bra.

Chino:  “I love you.”

PAGE 14.  PANEL 1.

We’re outside the hotel in a car. Mala and Chi are drinking, maybe having a cigarette.

Chi:  “Crazy weekend.”

Mala:  “Yea.  So how long has my cousin had these…abilities.”

Chi:  “I don’t know if I could just blurt his business out like that.”

PAGE 14.  PANEL 2.

Mala looks at Chi, and smiles.

Mala:  “You’re a loyal friend Chi.  I’ve always liked that about you.”

Chi:  “It’s nothing.  Chino’s always been there for me too, we’re like brothers.”

Mala:  “I know.  It’s just sweet and endearing.”

PAGE 14.  PANEL 3.

Chi is smiling back at Mala, they are looking at each other.

Chi:  “Sweet, well if you think that’s sweet, then you should really see what I’m like as a boyfriend.”

Mala:  “Is that so?”

Chi:  “My exes don’t seem to complain.”

Mala:  “But they are exes.”

PAGE 14.  PANEL 4.

Chi is putting his hands on his chest, in a celebratory, admiration of self quality, smiling.

Chi:  “They can’t handle the Chi, but you Mala, you are—“

Mala:  “Gay.”

PAGE 14.  PANEL 5.

Chi is still holding the same pose, but instead of smiling he has a shocked look on his face.

Chi:  “Since when?”

Mala:  “The current research says since birth.”

Chi:  “Aw fuck.”

PAGE 14.   PANEL 6.

Chi is hanging his head in defeat.

Mala:  “Yeah, would’ve done your sister, but she’s spoken for.”

Chi:  “Ewww.”

PAGE 15.  PANEL 1.

Back in the hotel room.

Chino is laying against Myung, his back against her chest, and she is holding his head and chest.

Myung:  “Worth the wait.”

Chino:  “Shit, you know it.  God, that was awesome.  Hope I’m ready to go again soon.”

Myung:  “Mmmm…Might have to wait til we get home.  You’re cousin and my brother are probably wanting to come in here soon.”

Chino:  “Oh yeah.”

PAGE 15.  PANEL 2.

Myung kisses Chino on the cheek.

Myung:  “You’re going to have to get up champ, I need to pee.”

Chino:  “Okay.  I’m gonna go have a smoke, and find them.  Let them know it’s safe.”

Myung:  “Kay.”

PAGE 15.  PANEL 3.

Chino is walking down the hall of the hotel.  There are lots of kids running around, sitting outside their rooms talking, and yelling.  Can just show laughter, and word balloon boxes.  Boys and girls, around middle school age.  These kids need to be Caucasian/white.

Chino:  “Must be a band trip.  God, I hate those days.”

PAGE 15.  PANEL 4.

Chino is now in the lobby, coming off of the elevator.  He sees some adults, and slightly older kids, closer to his age, wandering around the lobby.  Parents are also obviously Caucasian/White.  They look at him as he comes out of the elevator.

PAGE 15.  PANEL 5.

Chino is walking towards a room that says POOL:  Hours 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.  The parents are still looking at him.

Chino:  “Ooooh, a pool.”

Chino:  “Damn, missed the window.”

PAGE 16.  PANEL 1.

Chino is now walking outside.  He is lighting a cigarette.

PAGE 16.  PANEL 2.

Chino is walking further away form the entrance, and one of the older teenagers is following him.

Chino:  “Now where did we park.”

PAGE 16.  PANEL 3.

Chino is round the corner, he is looking to the side, and notices that he is being followed.

Chino (low voice):  “The fuck…”

PAGE 16.  PANEL 4.

Chino hides himself around the corner, in a little alcove for the energy/electrical supplier, behind a tree.

The boy is rounding the corner.

Chino:  “You following me?”

PAGE 16.  PANEL 5.

The boy seems startled, but not scared.

Boy:  “Just seeing what you were doing.

Chino:  “I was walking.  Is that a problem.”

Boy:  “Alright then.”

PAGE 16.  PANEL 6.

The boy has kept on walking, but is looking behind him to see where Chino is.

Chino:  “The fuck.  Fucking little piece of shit, I was just going for a walk.”

PAGE 17.  PANEL 1.

Chino has gone back towards the entrance he just left, and is being approached by Mala and Chi.

Mala:  “Hey coz, what ya doing?”

Chino:  “Went to have a smoke and find you guys, and all of a sudden the boy scout thought it was his job to make sure I wasn’t causing any trouble.”

Chi:  “I saw the kid following you, just figured he was going to ask for a cigarette.”

Chino:  “I wouldn’t be pissed off if that were the case.”

PAGE 17.  PANEL 2.

All three stand around smoking.

Mala:  “Let it go, he thought he was being some sort of hero by making sure the big bad smoker wasn’t doing drugs or something.”

Chino:  “Fuck him, not his job.”

Security guard (off panel):  “Excuse me…”

PAGE 17.  PANEL 3.

Chino, Chi, and Mala are having a flashlight’s light beamed into their faces, they are squinting and trying to figure out who’s holding it.  We can only see the security guard’s arm attached to the flashlight.

Security guard:  “What are you guy’s doing out here?  Are you staying at this hotel?”

Chino:  “We just went for a walk and are having a cigarette.  Is that a problem?”

Security guard:  “Are you staying at this hotel?”

Mala:  “Yes.”

Security Guard:  “Let me see your room key.”

Chino:  “Here.”

PAGE 17.  PANEL 4.

The flashlight is being pointed down towards the keycard of the room.

Security guard:  “What are you doing out here?”

Chino:  “We’ve got a non-smoking room, so we came out here to have a cigarette.  Is that a problem?”

Mala:  “Chino!”

Security guard:  “If you could please return to your room.”

Chino:  “For what?”

PAGE 17.  PANEL 5.

The security guard has turned off the flashlight and is looking at Chino, Chi, and Mala.  We can see his face, he’s in his mid forties, slightly overweight, and balding.

Security Guard:  “You’re causing a disturbance.”

Chino:  “Disturbance?  How the fuck are we disturbing anybody by smoking, outside the hotel room, like fifty feet away from the door?”

Security guard:  “Sir, could you please calm down, I don’t want to have to alert the authorities.”

Chino:  “Authorities?  ‘Real police, we have a man with a cancer stick, it may kill someone in 50 to 60 years if they stay right next to him the whole time.’”

Security Guard:  “Sir, this is my last warning, calm down or…”

Chino:  “Or…”

Mala:  “CHINO!”

PAGE 17.  PANEL 6.

Chino looks at the security guard.  Chino’s fist is balled up.

Security guard:  “Are you calm now?”

PAGE 17.  PANEL 7.

Chino’s fist is balled, and shaking.

PAGE 17.  PANEL 8.

Chino unclenches his fist.

Chino:  “I’m calm.”

PAGE 18.  PANEL 1.

Chino, Chi, and Mala are walking towards their hotel room, in the same hallway are still the loud, and active kids from earlier.

Chino:  “How the fuck are we the disturbance?  Look at this shit!  They’re loud and hell, but we’re the disturbance?”

Mala:  “I know coz, I know.  Fucking racist cop, what can you do?”

Chi:  “Sad thing was, he wasn’t even a cop.”

Chino:  “RIGHT!  Fucking asshole, and that little…”

PAGE 18.  PANEL 2.

Mala is sitting on the bed watching T.V.  As Chino is opening the door, continuing their conversation.

Chino:  “…piece of shit that was following me earlier.  Thinking he was fucking Batman or something.  Should of kicked his ass along with the security guard.”

Myung:  “What happened?”

PAGE 18.  PANEL 3.

Chino is sitting on the bed next to Myung.  She has sat up, Mala and Chi are sitting on the opposite bed.

Mala:  “Security guard was hassling us for no reason.”

Myung:  “What were you doing?”

Chi:  “Smoking.  And apparently some kid was following Chino right before the guard came up.”

Myung:  “Why?”

PAGE 18.  PANEL 4.

Chino has laid back onto the bed, his feet still touch the ground though.

Chino:  “No fucking clue.  Thought maybe I was going to start slinging rock or something as soon as I exited the hotel, wanted to make sure I wasn’t going to murder somebody.  No clue.”

Mala:  “I got a clue.”

Myung:  “What’s that?”

PAGE 18.  PANEL 5.

Tight shot on Mala’s face.

Mala:  “You hear all that noise out there?  Been going on since we got in, and was going on last night too, when you guys were at the hospital.  You want to know what the difference between what we were doing and what they were doing is?”

Myung (off panel):  “What?”

Mala:  “White noise, Myung.  Bunch of rich white kids on a band trip, parents want to make sure they ain’t being influenced by the wrong people.  So us, being a bit darker, and bit more ethnic, well, we’re a disturbance.”

Chino (off panel):  “FUCK!”

PAGE 19.  PANEL 1.

Chino has gotten up and is pacing.  The other three remain seated and watch him.

Myung:  “Come on hon, I know it’s bothering you, but please don’t let it ruin tonight.”

Chino:  “Shit, I know.  I know!  It’s just so damn infuriating.”

Mala:  “Calm down coz.”

PAGE 19.  PANEL 2.

Chino looks at the ice bucket.

Chino:  “You still have some of that whiskey?”

Mala:  “Yeah, in my bag.”

Chino:  “I’m going to go get some ice, I want mine on the rocks.  Maybe cool me down.”

PAGE 19.  PANEL 3.

Chino is walking out of the door.  Chi is getting off of the bed.

Chi:  “I’ll go with you.”

Chino:  “No need.”

PAGE 19.  PANEL 4.

Chino has slammed the door shut.  Everybody is looking at each other.

Chi: “I hope the bed your on is the one you had sex in, because I don’t want to sleep in that after math.”

Mala:  “The charm.”

PAGE 19.  PANEL 5.

The room is dark except for the light of the television.  Everyone is in bed.  Mala is awake watching the T.V. Chino has walked back into the room.

Mala:  “Where’d you go?”

Chino:  “Went everywhere, no working ice machines.  The damndest thing.  Where’s that whiskey?”

PAGE 19.  PANEL 6.

Mala throws him the whiskey.

Mala:  “Need a cup?”

Chino:  “Nah, I like it this way, burns more.”

PAGE 19.  PANEL 7.

Chino is watching a car from the hotel window, the Security Guard stands next to it.

PAGE 19.  PANEL 8.

The security guard is on his cell phone.  Chino’s silhouette can be seen watching him.

Security guard:  “I’ll be home at 6:30.  Okay?  Tell Brandon I’m sorry, I’ll watch the game with him tomorrow night.  I didn’t want to take the shift, but we needed the money.  Kay?  Okay.  Love you too.”

PAGE 20.  PANEL 1.

It’s morning, the security guard is getting into his car.

PAGE 20  PANEL 2.

Chino watches this from the hotel room.  The window is open, and sits on the ledge watching.

PAGE 20.  PANEL 3.

BOOM.  The car explodes, but we don’t see the car itself, just reflection of the heat and fire on the windows and curtains, the curtains are white so I think they would reflect some color.

PAGE 20.  PANEL 4.

Small inlaid panel.  Chino is smiling.

THE END
